Purchase Plans

Our pre-designed home plans have been thoughtfully developed over the last 30 years. Browse our plans on the plans page where you can sort by total square footage, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as many more determining items.

Typically all of this information will assist you in determining if the plan is right for you.

Once you have selected the perfect plan,

select the appropriate package for purchase. Packages include CAD, PDF or Hard-Copy options. Some plans may also have additional design options including, foundation type, or reversed plans.

Construction License

Construction Licenses grant the purchaser a one-time construction license to build the home depicted in the plans that they have purchased from Straightline Design®. This includes the right to make minor modifications to the plans, including any alterations needed for code compliance.

Promotional License

Promotional Licenses grant the purchaser use of promotional materials to be provided by Straightline Design®. Promotional materials can include, but are not limited to; renderings, simplified floor plans, and 3-D flythrough videos. Under this agreement, purchasers are granted use of the materials for their website, social media accounts, or physical handouts, while Straightline Design® retains all rights to the copyrighted material.

It may be that the plans are perfect for you, but if you would like custom modifications to any of our plans, complete the custom alterations form on the plans page and we can provide a free no-obligation quote for the work.

Quotes will include the purchase price for the plans, quote for the changes, and time table for when to expect preliminary plans for your review. Payment for the plans and custom alteration will need to be submitted prior to the completion of any work. (Additional alterations not included in the original submittal may be subject to a subsequent quote and therefore additional fees.)

After purchase, Straightline Design® will send your package to the physical or email address as provided during the purchase. Please allow 2-3 business days for electronic files, or shipment tracking information to be sent.

If the plans that you see here do not fit your needs, or would require too many alterations, Straightline Design® can also create a custom home design for you. Contact us and provide us with your wish-list, and we can discuss the process.

What comes with my plan purchase?

Plans can be sent in a few different mediums. Available packages include CAD Files, Electronic PDF, and Hard-Copies. Purchases also include Single-Use Licenses for the alteration, and construction of the home depicted in the plans. See the purchase tab on any plans’ page for additional details on the package, and design options for any particular plan.

What is included in the PDF Package?

This package includes an Electronic copy of the home plans in PDF format, and a Single-Use license in the name of the purchaser to make minor modifications to the plans and construct the home depicted one time. This is the most cost effective option for buying a home plan.

What is included in the CAD Package?

This package includes electronic CAD file for this home, and a Single-Use license in the name of the purchaser to make modifications to the plans and construct the home depicted one time. CAD Files are required to be opened using a licensed copy of CAD software, and can be used by the purchaser or design professional to make minor or major changes to the home plans.

What is included in the 5-Set Hardcopy Package?

This package includes 5 sets of printed plans to be mailed to the purchaser, as well as the electronic copy of the home plans in PDF format. A Single-Use license in the name of the purchaser is also included, to make minor modifications to the plans and construct the home depicted one time.

What do I do if I would like modifications to the plan I’ve purchased?

If you would like modifications made to any of Straightline Design’s ® plans, please fill out the Custom Alterations form and provide us with a wish-list of the changes that you would like to make. Allow 3 Business Days for us to return with a free no-obligation quote for the work, which will include the cost of the plans, and changes based on our hourly rate, and a timeline for the work to be completed.

If you would prefer, the purchaser is also welcome to find a local designer in their area to assist with the modifications to the plans. Straightline Design® is a proud member of the American Institute of Building Designers (AIBD). Visit AIBD.org to search their directory for designers in your area.

Are the plans that I purchase ready for submittal for permitting and construction?

These plans were created in accordance with our Local and National Codes at the time they were designed. The purchaser is responsible for ensuring that the plans are adjusted to comply with all applicable codes including but not limited to; local, state, and national codes, as well as energy code, and any neighborhood restrictions. We suggest that the purchaser work with building officials and professionals in their area to determine any changes that need to be made.

How many times can I construct the home depicted in the plans I purchased?

All Straightline Design® plans are copyrighted through the United States Library of Congress. Plans purchased come with a single-use license for the purchaser to construct the home one time. For any additional builds, an additional license will need to be purchased. If you are a Builder/Developer, Straightline Design does provide promotional licenses for your use. These promotional licenses provide you with rights to use the provided materials on your website, flyers or social media. Any additional unauthorized use of the plans, or images on this webpage is strictly prohibited.

Can I save the plan for future viewing?

We suggest using the embedded bookmarks tab on your web-browser. Webpage links can also be copied and shared.

Can I order more hardcopies?

If you need more sets of plans, contact us at support@straightlinedesignhomeplans.com with the order number and number of additional sets that you need. We will provide a quote for the additional sets and estimated shipping costs. Sets will ship within 2-3 business days after payment is received, and shipment tracking information will be sent to the email provided.
